Swati Daftuar writes features for The Hindu’s Sunday Magazine, Literary Review and Metro Plus supplements. She has covered literature extensively, interviewing authors, reviewing books and examining trends within different genres. Part of the core committee of The Hindu’s Literature Festival, Lit for Life, Daftuar has also been closely involved in the organisation and execution of the festival. Recently, she has also revisited an old hobby, illustrating stories and articles for independent journals. Currently, she is also curating an anthology for Young Adults.
As a reporter, she believes in the idea of covering literature in an approachable way, examining publishing trends and reading patterns in a manner that is both enjoyable and informative. She loves and hoards both poetry and children’s fiction, does not discriminate between eBooks and printed ones, and believes that Indian literature is entering its most exciting phase yet.
