Vikrant Mathur was appointed as Associate Director of Nielsen BookScan in 2010 and currently heads up the Indian operations of Nielsen Book. The Nielsen BookScan service (launched in India in October 2010) is the world’s largest continuous book sales tracking service operating in India, the UK, Ireland, Australia, US, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, Spain. Nielsen BookScan tracks book sales to provide detailed market information, providing timely, business critical sales information that informs buying decisions and stock management.
Since the launch of BookScan India, Vikrant has proved resourceful in expanding the business in India and made significant progress in panel development and expansion to provide quality data for English-language books for publishers, retailers and the media.
Vikrant Mathur and his team are now also responsible for the development and sales of Nielsen BookData information services and instrumental in educating the book industry about the importance of metadata to both publishers and booksellers and the benefit and value to their businesses.
Vikrant has more than 13 years experience in the Market Research Industry and has worked cross verticals including information, technology and consumer markets. He has shown great dexterity in market intelligence by providing strategic reviews for global clients and helped them to resolve complex business decisions in a competitive market. Vikrant is a Management graduate from Lucknow University.
