We regret to inform you that the Publishing Next 2018 conference stands cancelled.
Despite our best efforts at raising the required funds, we have been unable to gather enough to host and administer the conference. I apologise on behalf of the entire Publishing Next team, and I hope we have your understanding that the decision was a difficult one, which was taken after all options were exhausted. While the hotel rooms and the venue for the conference were booked in the confidence that the conference would be held, we have assessed the situation before going ahead and don’t feel that it will improve. To avoid any more uncertainty as well as prevent any loss to those who were planning to book their travel and accommodation to attend the conference, we decided not to wait until it is too late to take a call.
There is a silver lining, though. We are pleased to tell you that the Publishing Next Industry Awards will be announced as per schedule. The shortlisted entries will be announced by the end of October. In addition, we propose to host a presentation ceremony for the Awards and celebrate the best in our industry — the details of which we will announce soon.
We wish to assure all those who had registered for the conference that they will be reimbursed. Similarly, the generous contributors to our crowdfunding appeal will also be reimbursed, and we will soon contact them individually for this.
On behalf of the Publishing Next team, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience that this cancellation might have caused you. I hope that we have your faith and understanding and your continued support in our efforts in the future.
